Mexico City Half Marathon showcases Bupa‑backed Paralympic athletes

The XIX edition of the Mexico City Half Marathon took place on Sunday on the capital’s streets, drawing nearly 40,000 participants across recreational, professional and para‑sport categories. Three athletes sponsored by Bupa/COPAME earned top results in the wheelchair and skate‑board divisions: Marco Antonio Caballero and Yeni Aide Hernández each finished second in the men’s and women’s wheelchair races, while Michell Muñoz claimed first place on a skateboard, also a Paralympic rower from the Tokyo 2021 Games. Muñoz said, “I thank Bupa, the Mexican Paralympic Committee and the City Government for inviting me to this great event.” Mexican Paralympic Committee president Miguel Ángel García Meza attended the start and finish. Kenyan Simon Maywa won the overall men’s race in 1:04:36 and Gladys Longari won the women’s race in 1:12:19.
