Mexico City hosts 30th International Seminar of Political Parties
The 30th edition of the International Seminar 'Political Parties and a New Society' was held in Mexico City from October 8 to 10, organized by the Partido del Trabajo (PT). The event brought together more than 60 leftist organizations from 30 countries to discuss unity against fascism and imperialism.
During the seminar, former Colombian President Gustavo Petro delivered a presentation on his government's progress and warned of the rise of fascism in Latin America. However, Petro sparked controversy by criticizing the Venezuelan government's recent approaches toward the United States, accusing them of concessions regarding oil and the leadership of Nicolás Maduro.
A Venezuelan delegation, led by Tania Díaz, responded to Petro's remarks by defending the Venezuelan government and accusing him of spreading falsehoods.
In a separate cultural segment of the gathering, the poetic anthology ‘¿Quién disparó contra el nido del pájaro?’ by Venezuelan writer Tarek William Saab was officially presented. The event featured various international intellectuals and political figures, aiming to promote Latin American literature and cultural exchange.
