Overview

The 30th International Seminar ‘Parties and a New Society’ was held in Mexico City from October 8 to 10, organized by Mexico’s Partido del Trabajo (PT). The event convened delegates from various political organizations and parties representing 39 countries across America, Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Petro also sparked controversy by criticizing the Venezuelan government’s recent approaches toward the United States, accusing them of making concessions regarding oil and the leadership of Nicolás Maduro.

A Venezuelan delegation, led by Tania Díaz, responded to Petro’s remarks by defending the Venezuelan government and accusing him of spreading falsehoods.

The gathering also included a cultural segment featuring the official presentation of the poetic anthology ‘¿Quién disparó contra el nido del pájaro?’ by Venezuelan writer Tarek William Saab, aimed at promoting Latin American literature and cultural exchange.
