Mexico City enforces Hoy No Circula vehicle bans on June 5‑6, 2026
The “Hoy No Circula” environmental program will restrict vehicle circulation in Mexico City and 18 adjacent municipalities of the State of Mexico on several days in early June 2026.
• Friday 5 June: Vehicles with a blue engomado whose license plates end in 9 or 0 and carry hologram 1 or 2 must stay off the road from 05:00 to 22:00. • Thursday 4 June: Vehicles with a green engomado and plates ending 1 or 2, also bearing hologram 1 or 2, are prohibited during the same hours. • Saturday 6 June (first Saturday of the month): All cars with hologram 1 and odd‑numbered plates (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) as well as every vehicle with hologram 2 are barred from 05:00 to 22:00; foreign‑registered cars may circulate only until 11:00.
Exemptions include vehicles with hologram 00 or 0, electric and hybrid models, emergency services, school transport, hazardous‑material trucks and vehicles for people with disabilities. Violations carry fines of 20‑30 UMAs (approximately 2,346 – 3,519 pesos) and possible impoundment.
The restrictions aim to reduce air pollution across the metropolitan valley, following the same schedule used in previous years.
