Mexico City Hoy No Circula restrictions apply to vehicles on July 31, 2026

The Hoy No Circula program will restrict vehicle circulation on Friday, 31 July 2026. The ban targets cars with a blue verification sticker whose license plates end in 9 or 0 and that carry verification holograms 1 or 2. The restrictions cover the 16 boroughs of Mexico City and 18 neighboring municipalities of the State of Mexico, as well as municipalities in Hidalgo, Morelos, Puebla and Tlaxcala that honor the same verification criteria.

Exempt vehicles include those with holograms 00 or 0, electric and hybrid cars, school transport, hazardous‑waste trucks and public‑security services. Drivers who violate the rule face a fine of 20 to 30 times the Unidad de Medida y Actualización (approximately $2,350‑$3,520). Authorities have not announced any changes to the program, noting that it continues to operate under the existing schedule.

The measure is administered by the Secretaría del Medio Ambiente (SEDEMA) and the Comisión Ambiental de la Megalópolis (CAMe), which coordinate the restriction across the metropolitan area.
