Colombian Navy seizes two tons of cocaine in Caribbean operation

The Colombian National Navy, in coordination with the United States Southern Task Force, seized 2,001 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride in the Colombian Caribbean. The operation, which took place on October 31, 2026, involved the interception of two Go Fast vessels and the capture of five individuals.

During the interdiction, traffickers reportedly threw several packages into the sea to evade authorities. Coast Guard personnel successfully recovered 80 bundles containing 2,000 packages of the drug. President Abelardo De La Espriella stated that the seizure represents a financial blow exceeding 92 million dollars to criminal organizations and prevented more than five million doses of cocaine from reaching the streets.
