Mexico City and State of Mexico enforce Hoy No Circula limits on June 16‑17, 2026

On Tuesday 16 June 2026 the Hoy No Circula program in Mexico City (CDMX) and the State of Mexico (Edomex) bars any vehicle that simultaneously has a pink (rosado) engomado, a licence‑plate ending in 7 or 8, and a hologram 1 or 2. The restriction applies from 05:00 to 22:00. Drivers who ignore the rule face a fine of 20‑30 UMA, about 2,346‑3,519 pesos, and possible impoundment.

On Wednesday 17 June 2026 the program shifts to vehicles with a red (rojo) engomado, plates ending in 3 or 4, and hologram 1 or 2, under the same schedule and penalties. Exemptions cover electric and hybrid cars (categories I and II), vehicles with hologram 00 or 0, emergency and public‑service vehicles, school transport, disabled‑permit cars and certain agricultural, construction, mining machines and motorcycles under 400 kg. The air‑quality forecast was good, so a “Doble Hoy No Circula” phase was not activated. The restrictions apply across CDMX’s 16 boroughs and a list of municipalities in the State of Mexico.
