Mexico, Dominican Republic equip public hospitals with advanced imaging equipment
Mexico's Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) inaugurated a 256‑detector CT scanner and a three‑Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) unit at the Hospital de Especialidades "Dr. Antonio Fraga Mouret" in Mexico City. Director general Zoé Robledo said the new devices will enhance diagnostic capacity and serve thousands of IMSS beneficiaries with faster, more precise imaging studies.
In the Dominican Republic, the Servicio Nacional de Salud (SNS) opened a new diagnostic unit at Hospital Regional Universitario José María Cabral y Báez, installing the only bone densitometer in the public network and two modern ultrasound machines. Executive director Julio Landrón highlighted the equipment as part of President Luis Abinader's commitment to improve public health services and reduce waiting times for advanced diagnostic tests.
