Mexico expands credentialing for Universal Health Service in Campeche and Sonora

In Campeche, the state delegation for development programs installed 13 credentialing modules at locations including the Capital's Blood Transfusion Center and the Clínica Madero in Ciudad del Carmen. The rollout prepares for the launch of the Universal Health Service, scheduled to begin in January 2027 under President Claudia Sheinbaum's health reform.

In Sonora, the Secretaría del Bienestar opened registration for the Universal Health Service credential for adults over 65 and people with disabilities. Seventy‑five modules across the state will accept applications until 14 November, aiming to enroll roughly 400,000 initial beneficiaries. Registrants must present identification, proof of address, CURP and a contact phone number. Mobile brigades will visit homes of those with limited mobility. The credential will grant access to emergency, prenatal, and cardiac care beginning January 2027, with broader medical services to be added through 2028.
