Mexico expands educational infrastructure and scholarship programs

In Mexico, federal and state leaders are focusing on expanding educational infrastructure and social support programs. In Texcoco, State of Mexico, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez inaugurated the Centro de Bachillerato Tecnológico Agropecuario (CBTA) No. 330. The project involved a 50 million peso investment for 12 classrooms, a multifunctional laboratory, workshops, and administrative offices, benefiting 900 upper secondary students.

Separately, in Zacatecas, officials highlighted the impact of federal educational scholarships on reducing school dropout rates. Current programs include the Rita Cetina Universal Basic Education Scholarship, the Benito Juárez Universal Scholarship for upper secondary students, and the Gertrudis Bocanegra Transportation Scholarship for university students. These initiatives are described as a shift from temporary aid to established rights designed to foster community development and long-term stability.
