Mexico federal police seize illegal sand equipment in Chiapas and fuel shipments in Reynosa
Federal authorities in Mexico conducted two separate raids targeting illegal resource extraction. In Chiapas, the Policía Federal Ministerial (PFM) detained five individuals during a search of a site on the banks of the Río Huixtla. Officers seized three backhoes, two hand‑operated vehicles, a crusher, a tanker truck and a dump truck, all linked to unauthorized sand mining.
In Reynosa, Tamaulipas, three men were placed in preventive detention after a federal raid uncovered more than 26,000 liters of contaminated diesel, two tractor‑trucks, sixteen tanker trucks, sixteen metal containers, seven high‑pressure pumps, twenty fuel tanks and additional equipment. The operations were carried out by the PFM in coordination with the Guardia Nacional, the Secretariat of Security and the Federal Prosecutor’s Office (FGR).
