Mexico fuel prices and driving restrictions for September 4

Fuel prices in Mexico show relative stability as of September 4, 2026, according to data from PETROIntelligence. The national average for Magna gasoline is 23.686 pesos per liter, while diesel has seen a slight decrease to 27.020 pesos per liter. Premium gasoline continues an upward trend, reaching an average of 28.577 pesos per liter.

In the Mexico City Metropolitan Area, the 'Hoy No Circula' program remains in effect for Friday, September 4. Vehicles with blue stickers and license plate endings 8 or 9, carrying holograms 1 or 2, are prohibited from circulating between 5:00 and 22:00. This regulation applies across the 16 boroughs of Mexico City and 18 municipalities in the State of Mexico to manage emissions. No environmental contingency phases are currently active.
