Mexico imposes antidumping duties on hot-rolled steel imports

Mexico's Ministry of Economy has issued a final resolution regarding an antidumping investigation into hot-rolled steel imports. The investigation, initiated at the request of Ternium México, S.A. de C.V., concluded that unfair trade practices involving price discrimination were occurring.

The measure imposes definitive compensatory duties on hot-rolled flat products of iron or steel, both carbon and alloyed, regardless of their specific country of origin. The investigation specifically targeted imports originating from China and Vietnam. The regulation covers various technical specifications, including thicknesses ranging from under 3 mm to a maximum of 25.4 mm, and includes products in the form of rolls, sheets, plates, strips, and tapes for commercial, automotive, and structural use.
