Mexico investigation targets Argentine suspect in family massacre

Authorities in the State of Mexico are investigating a brutal massacre in the Bosque Esmeralda area of Atizapán de Zaragoza, where four people and a dog were killed. The victims include Jonathan Meléndez, a member of the musical group Camilo Séptimo, his four-month-pregnant wife Ana Paula Barragán, their three-year-old daughter, and a domestic worker. A six-year-old son was the sole survivor.

Diego Sebastián Rosen Ferlini, an Argentine national, and his driver, Gerardo Cisneros Bejarano, have been detained. Investigators believe the motive was the theft of cryptocurrency, as the suspects allegedly entered the Grand Viure apartment building under the impression that the victims held “a cold box with millions of dollars in bitcoins.”

Rosen Ferlini is also being linked to a potential fraud network involving his wife, Paola Mandri, who reportedly fled to Spain. Mandri is a business partner in several ventures, including Cloud BTL and Fifty Fifty Total Production. Investigations suggest the couple may have been involved in commercial scams through brands such as +Relax and Nomad P.M. Rosen Ferlini was already under investigation by the Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado de México for fraud prior to the killings.
