Mexico invests in agricultural technology and rural training

The Mexican government is implementing several initiatives to modernize the agricultural sector. In the State of Mexico, the administration has invested over 62.8 million pesos through the “Transformando el Campo” program to support prickly pear (tuna) producers. This investment includes providing equipment such as cactus shredders, despinners, and biotriturators to improve cultivation and commercialization processes, helping the state maintain its position as a national leader in prickly pear production.

On a federal level, the Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development has announced the opening of the “Elvia Carrillo Puerto” National Training Center for the Transformation of the Mexican Countryside. This center aims to provide technical training, digital tools, and specialized education to farmers, youth, and women. The initiative includes a digital platform and a virtual library to reach various regions, with a focus on teaching modern technologies such as drone management for agricultural activities.
