Mexico launches “ABC de las Emociones” student mental health program

The “ABC de las Emociones” program has launched in various Colegio de Bachilleres campuses across Mexico, including locations in Tampico, Tamaulipas, and Zacatlán, Puebla. Supported by state and federal governments, the national initiative aims to promote the emotional health and socioemotional wellbeing of students aged 14 to 18.

The program focuses on helping adolescents identify, understand, and manage emotions to better navigate challenges such as social pressure, conflict, frustration, and the consequences of social media use. By transforming schools into spaces for orientation and support, the initiative seeks to foster healthy coexistence and integral development.

In Tampico, the launch involved educational authorities, teachers, and students, emphasizing a preventive and community-based approach that includes active participation from parents. The program aims to equip students with life skills to face challenges and make informed decisions throughout their lives.
