Mexico Launches Amber Alerts for Missing Teens in State of Mexico and Sonora

The Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado de México (FGJEM) activated an Amber Alert to locate 16‑year‑old Víctor Manuel Nicolás Mendoza, who disappeared from his home in Nezahualcóyotl on 16 July 2026. Authorities described him as 1.65 m tall, 60 kg, with brown hair and a distinctive tattoo of a dog with a pistol on his right arm. The public was asked to call emergency lines or the state’s Amber Alert numbers with any information.

Separately, the Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado de Sonora (FGJE) issued an Amber Alert for 6‑year‑old Camille Sánchez Flores, taken from her home in the Rosarito colonia of Nogales on 4 June 2026. The case stems from a custody dispute between the child’s parents, and officials warned that the girl and her father might be outside Mexico. A Migratory Alert and a Red Alert (Ficha Roja) were also activated to coordinate national and international search efforts.
