Mexico launches first AI Factory to train 10,000 AI experts for tech sovereignty
Mexico has inaugurated its first "AI Factory," a dedicated team of about 100 elite specialists tasked with developing artificial‑intelligence tools to address public‑sector challenges. In parallel, the country graduated its inaugural cohort of 10,000 AI experts, a step aimed at reducing dependence on foreign software providers and achieving technological sovereignty. The initiative is part of a broader push by the Mexican government to foster domestic AI capability, including collaborations with international research centres such as the supercomputing hub in Barcelona.
The newly created AI Factory will program solutions for public problems quickly and accurately, supporting the broader strategy to make Mexico a leading nation in AI development and application.
