Mexico tops medal table at Santo Domingo 2026 Games
Mexico concluded the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo at the top of the medal standings, securing a record 407 total medals, including 167 gold, 125 silver, and 115 bronze. This performance marks Mexico's third consecutive title in the competition.
Colombia followed in second place with 266 medals, while Cuba took third with 155. Venezuela finished fourth with 216 medals, and host nation Dominican Republic secured fifth place with a historic 150 medals, including 46 gold. The Dominican Republic's performance was highlighted by strong showings in boxing and athletics.
Individual standout performances included Mexican swimmer Celia Pulido, who earned 11 medals, and Dominican athletes Liranyi Alonso and Marileidy Paulino in athletics. The games serve as a key milestone in the regional sports cycle leading toward the 2028 Olympic Games.
