Mexico cemented its dominance at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, surpassing 150 medals and ending the fifth day with a total of 153 medals – 65 gold, 51 silver and 37 bronze – well ahead of its regional rivals. The Mexican delegation topped the overall standings, with standout performances in archery (Alejandra Valencia won gold in the women’s recurve and Ana Paula Vázquez took silver, while Matías Grande earned gold in the men’s recurve and a mixed‑team title), shotgun shooting (Jorge Orozco claimed gold), swimming (Celia Pulido won the 100 m freestyle), and bowling (the men’s trio secured gold).
The host nation, the Dominican Republic, remained fifth on the medal table with 57 medals – 10 gold, 12 silver and 35 bronze – after adding three silver and six bronze on the same day. Colombia stayed in second place with 97 medals and Cuba held third with 55, while Venezuela occupied fourth.
