Mexico municipal water agencies clear drains in Acapulco and Nuevo Laredo

The Acapulco Water and Sewerage Commission (Capama) launched an operation to clear blocked sanitary drains, repair water‑supply leaks, and repair pavement damage in several neighborhoods. Director Antonio Lorenzo Rojas Marcial oversaw work that included desazolve of inspection wells, concrete repairs, and promotion of a discount campaign for customers who regularize unpaid bills.

In Nuevo Laredo, the municipal sanitation agency COMAPA removed accumulated garbage, discarded tires and an automobile gasoline tank from drainage channels in the Los Olivos area. Officials warned that such debris blocks pipes, causes sewage overflows during rains, and urged residents not to dump waste into the streets or sewers, emphasizing shared responsibility for infrastructure upkeep.
