Mexico offers free breast and cervical cancer screenings in Colima and Baja California

In Colima, the state health secretariat led by Governor Indira Vizcaíno Silva announced that IMSS‑Bienestar clinics are providing free clinical breast examinations to women aged 25 and older. The exams look for masses, skin changes or nipple discharge and refer any suspicious findings for further testing, complementing self‑exams from age 20 and mammography from age 40.

In Baja California, the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) is urging women to attend family‑medicine units for cervical cancer screening on National Cervical Cancer Day (Aug 9). Services include Pap smears and, when indicated, HPV testing, together with advice on vaccination and healthy habits. Early detection is emphasized to improve treatment outcomes.
