Mexico offers free veterinary day while Argentina's pet‑care market expands

The State of Mexico government, through the Comisión Estatal de Parques Naturales y de la Fauna (Cepanaf), will hold a free pet‑health event in the municipality of La Paz on Tuesday, 16 June 2026. Starting at 09:00 in the municipal plaza, the program – part of the CERA strategy (Capture, Sterilize/Educate, Rescue/Return, Adopt) – provides free sterilizations, veterinary consultations, deworming and responsible‑care education to residents of La Paz and neighboring municipalities.

In Argentina, the pet‑care industry is shifting toward premium services as more than 80 % of households own a dog or cat and 75 % consider their pets “like a child.” The market is seeing growth in memberships, specialty spas, digital health tracking and high‑end grooming, illustrated by Lavakan Argentina’s club offering automated baths, ozone therapy and vegan shampoos. Analysts note that this “humanisation” of pets is expanding the sector within a global market valued at over USD 273 billion in 2025.
