Municipalities implement infrastructure and environmental projects

Various municipalities and regional governments are implementing infrastructure and environmental projects to address urban challenges.

In Mexico, Querétaro is executing pluvial works on Highway 57 to prevent flooding near the Cimatario Cemetery, with an investment of approximately 4.9 million pesos. Additionally, officials are evaluating a project to divert runoff from Paseo 5 de Febrero toward a private basin to mitigate flooding in the Tremec area.

In Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, the rehabilitation of Carlos Díez Gutiérrez street has been completed in two stages, involving 11 million pesos to renew over 3,000 square meters of roadway and hydraulic infrastructure. In Villa de Álvarez, Colima, work has begun on the Glorieta de los Perritos to improve road safety and pavement. In Delicias, officials reported the completion of integral renovations on Avenida Agricultura and Avenida Octava Poniente.

In Spain, the City Council of Alcalá de Henares is finalizing the repaving of Camino de los Afligidos, a project costing over 340,000 euros, which includes new speed bumps for safety.

Environmental cooperation is also a focus in Tijuana, where the local government and the U.S. Consulate have agreed to coordinate on water management, waste, and air quality. Meanwhile, in Tlaxcala, the first generation of the ‘Sports Legends Hall of Fame’ was established to honor local athletes and coaches.
