Cancún Mayor Ana Paty Peralta Takes 45‑Day Leave to Join Morena State Coordination Process

Municipal President Ana Patricia Peralta de la Peña of Benito Juárez (Cancún) applied for a temporary leave of up to 45 days to participate in Morena's internal selection of the State Coordination of Defense of the Transformation and Sovereignty in Quintana Roo. The Cabildo approved the request unanimously, with the leave taking effect on 25 June at 22:00.

During her absence, the first councilor, Landy Guadalupe Canché Pantoja, will serve as interim head of the municipal presidency. Peralta assured residents that municipal operations will continue uninterrupted, citing ongoing projects such as road repaving, social programs and security initiatives. She said, “My commitment to Cancún remains intact, and I will continue to serve the people with responsibility and love.” The leave is framed as a legal and transparent step to allow full participation in the party process that will shape the state candidacy for the 2027 elections.
