Mexico pushes ahead with major highway in San Luis Potosí and new boulevard in Saltillo

The state of San Luis Potosí is advancing a 118‑kilometre, four‑lane San Luis‑Matehuala highway. The director of the state roads board said work continues on key interchanges (El Peyote, Villa de Aristay, Matehuala) and that supervision with the concessionaire is ongoing. The route will link the state capital with the Altiplano, reduce travel times, improve safety and support logistics for producers and transport firms.

In Coahuila, the municipal government of Saltillo has begun expanding the Obispo Francisco Villalobos boulevard. The project will create a four‑lane thoroughfare with a central median, modern lighting and signalling, connecting the Oscar Flores Tapia ring road with Venustiano Carranza. The upgrade replaces a single‑lane segment, easing congestion for the city and neighboring municipalities of Arteaga and Ramos Arizpe, and serving several local neighborhoods.
