Palestinian Ambassador meets Mexican Senate President

During a meeting at the Mexican Senate, Palestinian Ambassador Nadya Rasheed and Senate President Higinio Martínez Miranda reaffirmed Mexico's solidarity with the Palestinian people and its support for a two-state solution. Martínez Miranda emphasized that Mexico's long-standing supportive stance toward Gaza and Palestine would continue.

Ambassador Rasheed highlighted Mexico's defense of international law and its support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). She noted that Palestinians seek dignity, protection, and the right to remain on their lands rather than exceptional rights. She also shared that Mexico has provided medical care to Palestinians injured in the conflict, including two children; one recently returned home with a prosthesis to regain mobility.

Furthermore, Rasheed urged Mexico to review the value chains of national corporations linked to Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territories. She argued that trade and investments should not benefit areas that sustain the occupation, citing the International Court of Justice's determination that Israel's presence in these territories is illegal. She expressed interest in working with the Senate to analyze potential measures to ensure Mexican companies do not contribute to the illegal expansion of settlements.
