Mexico sanctions IMSS provider for falsified medication

Eliana Díaz Magaña has been sanctioned and barred for two years from participating in federal government contracts following a violation involving the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS). The Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno (SABG) imposed a fine of 138,911 pesos after determining that the provider supplied false information regarding 120 units of a medication.

The products were labeled as Limustin Tacrolimus 1 mg, an immunosuppressant used to prevent organ rejection in kidney, liver, or heart transplants. However, investigations revealed that the actual content did not match the information provided on the primary and secondary packaging. The sanction was officially published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación.
