Mexico SAT nullifies Sonora association invoices; Panama tax agency signs CIAT pact

On 7 August 2026, Mexico's tax authority (SAT) published an official notice in the Diario Oficial de la Federación declaring the digital tax invoices (CFDI) issued by the Association of Productivity and Competitiveness of Sonora, A.C. (RFC APC1910164AA) definitively false. The documents are considered void for fiscal purposes, and third‑party taxpayers have a thirty‑day deadline to file corrective declarations, after which the SAT may restrict the use of the digital seal certificate.

Separately, the Inter‑American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) and Panama's Dirección General de Ingresos (DGI) signed a cooperation agreement to organize the 61st CIAT General Assembly, scheduled for 2027 in Panama City. The pact outlines logistical, operational and coordination commitments for the event, aiming to strengthen international tax‑administration collaboration.
