Mexico security forces confront armed robbery in Veracruz, deploy after narco‑banner threats in Morelos

In Córdoba, Veracruz, security forces from the municipal police, state ministry, National Guard, army and the Mexican Army intervened after a suspected robbery attempt at a 7/24 convenience store. An armed exchange resulted in both suspected attackers being killed, one inside the store and the other while fleeing in a vehicle. The incident triggered a “Red Code” alert and a large police and military presence that closed several streets while forensic teams collected evidence.

In the southern state of Morelos, armed groups placed large narco‑banners in the municipalities of Tetecala, Miacatlán, Coatlán del Río, Mazatepec and nearby towns, accusing authorities of colluding with criminal organizations. State police, the army and the National Guard responded with patrols, road checkpoints and the removal of the banners, which were handed over to the state prosecutor for investigation. No arrests have been reported.
