Mexico security forces launch raids against organized crime
Security agencies across Mexico carried out a series of operations targeting criminal groups and illegal activities. In Chalco, state police arrested two men suspected of belonging to a violent vehicle‑theft cell. In Reynosa, agents seized six short firearms and eight magazines hidden inside a bus. In Concordia, Sinaloa, federal forces recovered three AK‑47 rifles, 30 chargers, 3,359 cartridges and tactical gear. A regional leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, Adrián “N” alias “El 20”, was captured in Mazatlán together with heavy weapons, ammunition, a vehicle and tactical equipment. Four members of a kidnapping ring operating around Toluca were linked to a kidnapping case and placed under prosecution. Seven navy personnel were summoned to testify in the Farías Laguna fuel‑theft investigation. In Nuevo Laredo, two men were detained with two military‑grade firearms, ten magazines and 177 cartridges. Federal and state authorities also dismantled two hydrocarbon‑theft cells, “Los Patrones” and “Los Rebollo”, in the State of Mexico, seizing large volumes of gasoline, weapons, cash and vehicles. The operations reflect a coordinated effort by the Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana, the Fiscalía General de la República and other agencies to curb organized crime.
