Mexico security forces seize weapons, drugs in city raid and prison sweep

In Mexico City’s Miguel Hidalgo borough, security forces from the Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana, the Navy and the Guard carried out a raid on a property on Lago Chapala street. They seized two black long‑guns, a short gun with ammunition, bags of solid methamphetamine (100 doses), a kilogram of marijuana, and three mobile phones, and detained a 55‑year‑old man and a 22‑year‑old woman suspected of operating a drug‑extortion cell.

In the state of Sinaloa, authorities inspected a module of the Aguaruto prison in Culiacán. The operation, involving the state police special‑operations group, the National Guard, an army base and federal prosecutors, confiscated a cell phone, a radio, nine SIM cards, USB cables, chargers and a metal tip. The inspection concluded without incident.
