Mexico seizes nearly 33,000 L of stolen fuel in operations in Puebla and Hermosillo
State and federal authorities in Puebla confiscated roughly 10,000 L of fuel suspected of being obtained illegally. The first raid, on the Mexico‑Puebla highway near San Lucas El Grande, stopped a tanker carrying more than 6,000 L of LPG and detained the driver. A second intervention in San Salvador El Verde seized two storage tanks holding about 3,800 L. The operations involved the state public security secretariat, the Navy, and the National Guard as part of an intensified campaign against fuel theft.
In Hermosillo, the Federal Prosecutor's Office (FGR) seized about 23,000 L of hydrocarbons during a raid on a property near the Mesa del Seri road. Federal agents, the Federal Ministerial Police, and Pemex security personnel also recovered pressure hoses, two vehicles, and various containers linked to illicit fuel activities. All seized items were handed over to the Public Ministry for further investigation.
