Mexico selects six para-archers for Parapan American Championship

Mexico has announced a six-member para-archery national team selected to compete in the 2026 Parapan American Championship in Lima, Peru, from October 21 to 25. The athletes aim to secure qualification spots for the Lima 2027 Parapan American Games.

The team includes recurve men's athletes Samuel Efrén Molina Núñez and Hernán Dario Garza Cuéllar, compound men's athletes Omar Echeverría Espinoza and Gerardo Olegario Rodríguez Banda, and compound women's athletes Lya Daniela Sánchez Taboada and Liliana Montiel Orozco. As part of their preparation, the squad will participate in the Santiago 2026 Hyundai World Archery Para Series in Chile from October 14 to 18.

Lenia Ruvalcaba Álvarez of CONADE emphasized the goal of growing and improving adaptive sports in Mexico, while technical director Juan René Serrano noted that the selection process concluded at the Mexican Paralympic Center (CEPAMEX). The athletes are also being encouraged to look ahead toward the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.
