Mexico server exports surpass automotive industry in 2026
In the first half of 2026, Mexico's server exports for artificial intelligence reached approximately $83 billion, surpassing the $75 billion generated by the automotive and auto parts industry. This shift is driven largely by demand from the United States, where Mexico provides roughly 40% of AI server imports.
Industrial activity is concentrated in the states of Chihuahua and Jalisco. However, much of the production is managed by foreign companies, particularly from Taiwan. High-value components such as processors, graphics units, and memory are imported from Taiwan, China, South Korea, and Malaysia. Currently, the national content in these servers is estimated to be between 3% and 7%.
