Mexico to compete in 2026 Padel and Surfing World Championships

Mexico will field significant athletic delegations in two major international competitions scheduled for November 2026.

In Cancun, a 28-player Mexican team will compete in the FIP Junior America Padel Cup from November 10 to 14. The squad, consisting of 14 men and 14 women, aims to improve upon the silver medals earned in the 2024 Aguascalientes edition. Key competitors include the Batarse López brothers, José Pablo Garza de la Peña, and Santiago Castro Recio. The tournament also serves as a qualifying event for the 2027 Junior World Cup.

In Peru, six Mexican surfers will participate in the World Surfing Games organized by the International Surfing Association (ISA) from November 6 to 15 at Punta Rocas. The national selection includes Enzo Ackermann, Tiago Sorrentino, Micael Roman Lerner, Coral Bonilla, Maya Mateja, and Ana Lylia González. The athletes will compete against elite international talent, including Olympic champion Ítalo Ferreira.
