Mexico trial verdict set for murder of Australian brothers
A verdict date has been set in the trial of three Mexican men accused of murdering Australian brothers Jake and Callum Robinson in Baja California. The judge has scheduled closing arguments for next Thursday, with the verdict to be delivered at 10am on Friday.
The decision follows an emotional plea from the victims' parents, Debra and Martin Robinson, who requested the verdict be delivered before their scheduled flight back to Perth. The parents have attended all sessions of the four-week trial in Ensenada.
The case involves the deaths of the Robinson brothers during a surfing trip, as well as the April 2024 death of their American friend, Carter Rhoad. Prosecutors allege Rhoad's death was the result of a robbery gone wrong in a remote beachside area.
