Mexico's Atención a las Causas strategy delivers 8.6 million services

Mexico's Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, reported that the ‘Atención a las Causas’ (Attention to the Causes) strategy has provided 8.6 million services and procedures over the last two years. The initiative coordinates 53 government institutions to address inequality and provide alternatives for youth to prevent violence.

Key components of the strategy include ‘Ferias de Paz’ to facilitate identity documentation and the ‘Tianguis del Bienestar,’ which has distributed over 3.5 million essential items to nearly 446,000 people across 35 municipalities and 830 localities.

In terms of security and prevention, the ‘Sí al Desarme, Sí a la Paz’ program has facilitated the anonymous and voluntary exchange of 13,157 firearms for cash since October 2024. Additionally, the ‘Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro’ program has integrated more than 416,000 young people into the workforce through practical training.
