Attorney General Ernestina Godoy Calls for Coordinated Action in Veracruz to Combat Crime and Fuel Theft

Ernestina Godoy Ramos, the head of Mexico's Fiscalía General de la República (FGR), convened state and municipal authorities in Veracruz, together with representatives of the Defense Secretariat, the Mexican Navy and the National Guard. The meeting aimed to strengthen intelligence sharing and inter‑institutional coordination to tackle organized crime, with a particular focus on the illegal theft of fuel (huachicol) and other serious offenses.

Godoy emphasized that joint efforts would produce robust investigations and exemplary sanctions, stating, “Never before have we had the opportunity to work together and achieve results. Together we can do it.” She toured federal prosecutor offices, highlighting the need for close collaboration among prosecutors, police, and military personnel. Senior FGR officials David Boone de la Garza and Richard Urbina Vega attended and praised the commitment of public servants. The initiative seeks to build a safer Veracruz and a more just Mexico through coordinated action.
