Mexico's Chetumal and Zacatlán festivals draw crowds in August

Chetumal, Quintana Roo, will host the second edition of "Oaxaca and the Guelaguetza in Chetumal 2026" from August 6 to 23. The event will showcase Oaxacan culture with traditional music, dance, crafts, textiles, jewelry, and cuisine such as tlayudas, mole negro, chapulines and mezcal. A festive parade featuring giant marionettes and other popular expressions will wind through the city streets.

In the Pueblo Mágico of Zacatlán, Puebla, the Gran Feria de la Manzana will run from August 7 to 16. Organizers expect more than 250,000 visitors and an economic impact exceeding 300 million pesos. Highlights include the traditional "manzanazo" apple giveaway, exhibitions of the town’s renowned clockmaking industry, and concerts by artists such as Yuridia, Espinoza Paz and Grupo Cañaveral.
