Mexico's Defense Ministry launches National Guard recruitment with $19,060 monthly pay

The Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) opened a recruitment module in Veracruz to enlist men and women aged 18 to 30 for the Guardia Nacional. Applicants must present a range of documents—including CURP, voter ID, proof of residence, education certificate, military service card, birth certificate, electronic signature, tax registration, and a no‑criminal‑record letter—and meet personal criteria such as Mexican birth, single status, height (1.63 m for men, 1.55 m for women), BMI between 18.5 and 27.9, and no tattoos.

SEDENA also announced a separate civilian hiring program offering a net monthly salary of 19,060.77 pesos, along with paid vacation, rental housing, medical care for workers and families, scholarships for children, and financial benefits such as auto and land‑purchase credits, personal loans, a savings fund, life‑insurance, and food service.
