Mexico's federal prosecutor seizes over 1.3 million liters of illegal fuel in Reynosa

Federal authorities in Mexico confiscated more than 1.35 million liters of hydrocarbon fuel during two raids near the Reynosa‑Monterrey highway. The operations, ordered by a federal judge, uncovered over a million liters of fuel, 24 tanker trucks, dozens of storage containers and related equipment, and resulted in the arrest of two suspects. The seized assets were placed under the custody of the Ministry of Public Prosecutor for further investigation.

In a separate raid in Apizaco, Tlaxcala, the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) secured 28,600 liters of liquefied petroleum gas stored in four tanker trucks after residents reported a strong gas odor. National Guard, state police and the Army's defense ministry provided perimeter security, and the confiscated gas and vehicles were also turned over to federal prosecutors.

Both operations involved the Federal Ministerial Police, the National Guard, the state police and forensic specialists, highlighting a coordinated crackdown on illegal fuel storage and trafficking across Mexico.
