Mexico's federal prosecutors carry out raids in Cancun, Oaxaca and Mexico City
Federal agents of the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) conducted several operations this week across Mexico. In Cancun's Supermanzona 75, investigators from the Agencia de Investigación Criminal, supported by the Guardia Nacional and the Navy, executed a search warrant at a residence linked to alleged drug trafficking. The site was sealed and examined, with reports of at least one detention, but officials have not released details on arrests or seized evidence.
In the state of Oaxaca, the Fiscalía opened an internal probe after videos appeared to show agents of the Agencia Estatal de Investigaciones (AEI) handing long‑arms weapons to criminal groups in Juchitán de Zaragoza. The investigation will include forensic analysis of the footage and could lead to administrative or criminal sanctions if wrongdoing is confirmed.
Separately, in Mexico City’s Gustavo A. Madero borough, a raid on a property used as a makeshift fuel station uncovered roughly 2,250 liters of hydrocarbons seized from a clandestine Pemex pipeline. The operation involved the Federal Ministerial Police, the Guard, civil protection officials and Pemex personnel.
These coordinated actions reflect the FGR’s broader effort to combat organized crime, illegal arms trafficking and fuel theft throughout the country.
