Mexico's FGR destroys 179 kg of narcotics and seizes marijuana shipments in Aguascalientes
The Federal Prosecutor's Office (FGR) incinerated more than 179 kilograms of illegal narcotics—including marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine—and 9,464.5 units of psychotropic medicines at Campo Militar No. 37 in the State of Mexico. The operation involved prosecutors, the National Defense Ministry, the Criminal Investigation Agency, federal police and internal control officials, who oversaw the destruction in line with legal protocols.
Separately, K9 units from the Grupo K9 canine team located hidden marijuana in two separate parcel shipments in Aguascalientes. The first seizure, reported on 1 June 2026, involved about 1 kg of cannabis detected in a box from Mexico City. A second seizure later that week uncovered roughly 4 kg of marijuana in a different parcel. Both loads were confiscated and handed over to the FGR for further investigation.
