Mexico's FGR incinerates nearly 500 kg of seized narcotics in Sinaloa and Aguascalientes

The Federal Attorney General's Office (FGR) held two public destruction ceremonies to dispose of narcotics and related illicit items seized in recent operations. In Culiacán, Sinaloa, the FGR incinerated roughly 396.9 kg of drugs and 765.6 L of narcotic liquids, including about 3.7 t of cocaine, 195 t of methamphetamine, 151 t of marijuana, 30 t of marijuana plant material, 5.9 t of opium, as well as smaller amounts of heroin, THC and other substances. The ceremony also saw the destruction of 159 tactical vests, ballistic plates, helmets, slot‑machine equipment and other seized objects.

In Aguascalientes, the FGR burned around 92 kg of marijuana, 4 kg of methamphetamine, 39 g of cocaine and 194 g of THC, together with assorted controlled‑substance medications such as clobenzorex, clonazepam, alprazolam, methylphenidate, a single CBD unit and other non‑psychotropic substances. Officials from federal, state and municipal security agencies attended both events to verify quantities and oversee the legal disposal process.
