Mexico's Fourth Transformation holds local assemblies in Colima and Michoacán
On July 19, 2024, Joel Padilla Peña, PT leader and candidate to head the state‑wide Defence of the Fourth Transformation in Colima, addressed a municipal assembly in Cuauhtémoc, Colima. He outlined the PT’s work plan for 2026‑2027, stressing commitment to social rights, education, health and local welfare, and urged grassroots participation in the upcoming internal election for the state coordination.
In a separate event in Villas del Pedregal, the western district of Morelia, Michoacán, Carlos Torres Piña, aspiring state coordinator of Defence of the Transformation and Sovereignty for Morena, highlighted infrastructure and social projects delivered under the current federal and state governments. He cited the rehabilitation of a federal highway, construction of the Paso Catrinas, a new macro‑glorieta, the ICATMI training centre, the forthcoming 260‑bed IMSS regional hospital and the launch of the Morebús transport line, crediting President Claudia Sheinbaum and Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla for the advances.
