Mexico's Jalisco launches 'Ruta del Mango' campaign to boost domestic mango consumption
The Mango Export Packers Association (EMEX A.C.) introduced the "Ruta del Mango, México es Mango" campaign in Jalisco. The 30‑day first phase involved 55 promotion points—including restaurants, hotels, cafés, malls, airports and public spaces—and more than 3,000 activities such as tastings and nutrition‑based outreach.
EMEX President José Ángel Crespo said the initiative aims to diversify markets and increase mango presence on Mexican family tables. In the first half of 2026, Mexico exported over 202 million kg of mangoes, mainly to the United States. The sector generates annual revenues above US$600 million and supports more than 54,000 producers across 23 states. The campaign also highlights partnerships with food‑industry, tourism and agricultural authorities, and announces the 5th International Mango Congress to be held in late 2027, where producers will discuss climate challenges and commercial opportunities.
