Mexico's Morena backs President Sheinbaum's anti‑nepotism pledge

Morena deputy Gabriela López Torres of San Luis Potosí said the party will support President Claudia Sheinbaum’s call to ban nepotism in the selection of candidates for the 2027 elections. She urged that any aspiring Morena ally must respect the anti‑nepotism stance, describing it as a safeguard against the transfer of power within families.

López Torres also critiqued Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, noting that the state needs better health, education and real infrastructure results and should not profit from vulnerable sectors of society.
