Mexico's Morena rallies defend national sovereignty
Senator Verónica Díaz Robles addressed hundreds in Sombrerete, Zacatecas, urging citizens to unite and organise to protect Mexico’s sovereignty and the achievements of the Fourth Transformation. She highlighted that welfare programmes have become constitutional rights and praised President‑elect Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo’s leadership, calling for continued territorial work to safeguard the reforms.
At a separate assembly in Caleta de Campos, Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán, activist Gladyz Butanda Macías echoed the call, stressing that defending sovereignty means protecting the nation, not any single party. She warned against opposition parties and foreign influence, affirmed support for the current administration, and urged locals to continue the transformation for historic justice.
Both events stressed popular participation, community organisation, and the defence of constitutional gains achieved under the Morena‑led government.
