Mexico's Morena starts selection of state coordinators to defend transformation
Mexico's ruling party Morena, together with the Green Ecologist Party (PVEM) and the Labor Party (PT), announced a joint process to choose state coordinators who will defend the Fourth Transformation and national sovereignty. The parties will issue a call for candidates, with a registration window set for June 22‑27, during which aspirants from the three parties can submit their names. The coordinators are expected to lead house‑to‑house outreach, combat misinformation and support President‑elect Claudia Sheinbaum’s agenda.
Separately, Senator Heriberto Aguilar announced he will not register as a candidate for the coordinator position in Sonora, saying his decision aims to preserve internal unity and strengthen the movement. Aguilar reaffirmed his commitment to Morena’s goals and to continuing support for President‑elect Sheinbaum and Sonora Governor Alfonso Durazo.
